The very best research institutions tend to have even less women, and not only on the senior positions, but also on the junior level. What actions can research institutions take to reduce selection bias against women? I do not think that you can do it with quick fixis bringing in a quota alone will not be enough. We need a friendlier and more supportive culture in seminas and on the drop market. And we need different hiring mechanisms that complement this culture.
