The Challenges of Teaching Creativity
I like to use the word surprise more than shock. There's pattern interruption basically. You can't write a joke about a particular topic if you're not familiar with it. We have to master the truth before we can go ahead and try and reframe the truth in a humorous, memorable, relevant, impactful way. A lot of people's creativity has been stunted over the years.
