Autism Spectrum Disorder

People with autism expect the sensory uh expected prediction is to be more precise than they should so they haven't optimized their precision expectations that we talked about earlier. This means that the Bayesian updating is constantly weighted too much towards the sensory signal and is right they're relying too little on their priors. We think in particular that people with autism are for that reason slow to recognize when they've entered a new context of uncertainty. And this can explain why my people with autism find it hard to mentalize figure out what other people's mental states are because you need lots of prior informationLots of priors need to be employed in order to extract the signal from other people's behavior.
