I think everyone's prepared to take the risk, if you like, of increasing mileage to see their performance shift. But very few people are courageous enough to take the step the other way and go, well, how little can I do to still maintain that performance? It's an unsettling proposition. And I'm kind of a fan of this concept where athletes can cycle from high volume to low volume over several year cycles.
