The Importance of Brain Draining Geopolitical Rivals
When Russia invaded Ukraine, there were many people who were opposed to the idea of letting people with Russian citizens to travel anywhere. This major argument that was made is that we should brain drain our geopolitical rivals. It's a good way to stick it to a geopolitical rival without actually lobbing bombs and inflicting those costs. But being a landing pad for people fleeing persecution and horrible situations, giving them a chance to voice their being dissidents, I think it's a benefit to them as well.
