The Future of the Temperate Rainforest
It's like something from the Wild West frontier, isn't it? When I'm looking down on it there, these great logs that they have cut and are using. So the dead wood will still be great habitat for wildlife, but we've just moved it in a place where it will also be a really good fence to stop sheep. A temperate rainforest would probably take about two, maybe three hundred years to get to its best. But come back here in five years and the trees we've planted will be taller than me. And I'm quite tall. You'll suddenly get that feeling of having gone from being on a farm to in a wood.
