The Importance of History in Science
In biology, I don't think I've been to a single conference where anyone's ever even mentioned the philosophy of what I like is just not a thing. And so then I found myself thinking, gosh, maybe this is humble, pie time for me. Perhaps we sort of inadvertently learned some rudimentary philosophy on the job as it were. Well, you sort of pick it up as you go and you use it. You don't think anything of it. Whereas actually, there must be rigor and methodologies and things, which perhaps could actually be quite helpful to scientific training in terms of hypothesizing or extrapolating among other sorts of things.
