The December Revolt in Ukraine

In 18 20, the elite semyonovsky regiment was arrested for its alleged liberal spirit. Many of the key actors in the coming decemberest revolt wound up down south in ukraine. The men in the south tended to be more radical. They were avowedly republican but also open to the idea of regicide as a necessity. In general there was this split, radical republicans in the southern society, moderate constitutional monarchists in the northern society. But remember, the december part hasn't happened yet.
