Haywood's Defense of the Black Belt Thesis
Haywood argued that essentially national liberation was an important struggle for black liberation and that communists had to center around the right to black secession even in self-determination within the US. For a time this was actually sort of the predominant view within the Communist Party USA but it eventually began to shift as certain factions began to oppose it more openly. So the text that we're looking at today is Haywood's defense of the black belt thesis.
