The Effect of Shock on Learning
The experimenter tells you each time the learner gets a wrong answer, to increase the level of shock. The question is how high do you keep going? Because at some point, when you reach a pretty high level, the learner stops responding and doesn't hear any cries anymore. Is he unconscious? Is he dead? There's nothing but silence now.
