The russians are known for that sort of mind set in ther the way they run their military operations. Think about how many times russia's been invaded from europe. They use par military troops, like the kozacks, going back centuries. And they slip em into countries on their border, stir up a lot of trouble and sometimes use them to kill their own diplomats. You're either their enemy or you're their bitch. There's no in between.
