How Can I Protect My Student Loans?

I added my son is an authorized user on one of our credit cards to help build his credit. The card company did not ask for a social security number, just his name and address. So i'm wondering, how will the credit bureau's know to boost his score? And this one's from nancy and ohio. Since these plans are losing money now, and i will need some of it within a year, what can i do to protect the amout i have saved? Can i pull it out now to avoid further losses?
