The Dow Jones Industrial Average
The doo jones industrial average has been recorded every day since 18 96. The index is based on the 12 largest industrial companies of the day. It's weighed according to share price, which doesn't give you a true indication for how big and important that particular company is. i like the concept in theory, right? Ok? I have some sense of, are things going well or things going poorly? But that seems extremely simplicic, to just take the share price, add these 12 up and divide by 12, right? And i would love to hear your thoughts on that, eh, maybe how that's evolved over the years.
