I was Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding. First task was rebuilding the World Trade Center site. Then we really rethought the future of New York physically and financially by having a five borough economic development strategy. I'd never run a big company before. When it was announced publicly that I was going to go run Bloomberg, I said OK, I'm doing it.
