There's a lot of unrecognized either dementia or underlying neurodegenerative disease in older adults. A lot of people are working on artificial intelligence to see when the patient arrives in the emergency department, there are some kind of algorithms or risk factors that they can basically immediately create to see this person,. although they don't have delirium at this point, would be at high risk and so on. If you look at hip fracture population, post-apular delirium is around 30 to 40%, depending on which study you look at.
