The Neurology of Habit Formation
As a behaviour becomes a habit, almost every single part of the brain essentially stops working. The decision making part of your brain isn't engaged. You just rely on a habit that's stored in your basil ganglia. And when you can ritualize these aviors, and you can say, i' going to give that part of my brain a break and let it get let it sort of work up its energy and be preserved for really hard decisions is enormously powerful. But how do you start to ritualize creative, innovative, strategic thinking? Because now you and i still have to think about what we need to think about, right? Right? Ut.
