How Melvin's Confession Is Not Enough to Warrant an Arrest on the Spot
Melvin was about to get out in April 2018 before this whole story kind of sets its course. He had a couple jobs then, including being a bouncer and working at a call center for General Dynamics Information Technology. A few days after Lauren's murder, that supervisor and some of his coworkers were interviewed by the campus police. We were able to find out that he was aware of her movements because he had access to her email so he could see her correspondence with the police.
