The Transformative Power of Circumcision Is What Makes You a Jew
The zohar, the main book of jewish mysticism, is not necessarily accepted as definitive by everybody. Circumcision permits you to do certain things that we don't have to do any more. The tramandment of circumcision doesn't kick in until the eighth day and talk about what you do if a baby dies before it's eight days old. A most interesting passages which discuss what dbid heaven if your baby dies before the eighth day talks about how Jews can be born from different mothers than those who aren't circumcised.
