Why Do We Hate Our Neighbors?

There's research confirming this intuition that we dislike it when other groups have more than our group does. In particular, evidence suggests that we're motivated to do better than others when we perceive ourselves to be in competition with themt. Only 12 per cent of participants chose the option that is rational if you care about absolute resource access. The researchers think that ourar zero sum bias is going to make that misperception very stubborn.
