Introduction
The CDC estimates that 6.1 million children, which is a rate of 9.4 percent are diagnosed with ADHD. African-American students have been overrepresented in special education for over 50 years. Disparities and identification are greatest for those students in the subjective disabilities or sometimes called soft disabilities.
