The quality of light that you rest in in deep meditation practice is a light that isn't the polar opposite of darkness. The shift to the point where suffering became something to be embraced rather than to be defended against. When my mother's death around 1966 I remember pushing away the whole thing because it was just too painful for me. In the late 80s, middle 80s when my stepmother died I had the chance to go through the whole process in a way that I couldn't go through with my mother at the time. And I mean it was just incredible. She just her death was so far out. So it's neither bright nor a nod. It's just, it's the
