How Does a Planarian Regrow Its Head?

The head of a worm can be cut off and regrow in two ways. One is just the sort of almost 3D printed version where cells grow out from that, like leaves on a tree. The other is when all the planarian cells together have a really good idea of what size they should be. And as it's regenerating, the whole thing is shrinking. Why? Because you don't want to be a big planarian with a tiny head that doesn't work. You want to be perfectly proportioned.
