Homeschool students are more likely to be able to name a leader in their community, whether that be the mayor or police chief. Homeschooling allows me to do this, but one easy way that public schools can sort of address some of these concerns is get rid of recess that's age and grade segregated. If your school isn't teaching your children about Emmett Till, you don't need to necessarily whine about it. And so I hope with these little nuggets, you can maybe be prepared to lend yourself as a resource because a lot of these Black families in particular are going to be first generation homeschoolers.
