The Ironic Ironic Distinction From the Politics of the War

People people are very complicated about how they handle their allegiances. There was a difference between the flagpole marines that were close to the generals and kernals or were the generals andkernals and and the frontline guys but certainly among the frontline guys there's this kind of ironic distance from the actual politics of of the war. They didn't trust their own government i mean that was the real irony they didn't no one really trusted the the very government that was giving them their orders. At the same time they had this incredibly heartfelt connection to the people  and like you said earlier a lot of cliches happened to be true and this is the true one.
