The Titanic: A History of the Titanic
Charles C.W. Cook: I was invited to go on a submersible dive into the Titanic wreck site in 2020. He says he turned it down because of safety concerns and his own lack of submarine experience. "I would be a fool if I hadn't considered that being the historian to go down in this inaugural commercial dive ... would not have been great for the book" The ship's maiden voyage, which took place at the same time as today's implosion, will never be recorded again.
