The Effect of Economic Connectivity on Mobility
There's two types of economic connections or two aspects to economic connectedness that were really important. Exposure is just how many rich people are around in my high school. If I'm living in a neighborhood where there's no rich kids, it's impossible for me to be friends with them. Having those connections makes a difference in those outcomes eventually. It can be a big effect to change somebody's social connections and predicted future incomes.
