The District Court's 9-0 Opinion - The Fourth Amendment and the Fourth Amendment

The court eventually puts out their opinion. It's written by the Chief Justice William Renquist. He says claims that law enforcement officials have used excessive force in the course of an arrest are most properly characterized as invoking the protections of the Fourth Amendment. So they get their reasonable officer standard? They get it, and they get it unanimously. The 9-0 opinion. Whoa. I don't think it'd be a stretch to say that at the time, to a lot of people who were concerned about police brutality, police use force, felt like this was the beginning of a new era. That favor plaintiffs and claimants.
