The Importance of Understanding the Definition of Decline in Spanglers Terms

Last Pirate: I asked you to come on the show, your book wasn't even published yet. Spanglers concept of decline is one in which it doesn't necessarily culminate in societal institutional collapse. He says that there's a biological entity like a macro organism that spans generations. And at some point, it becomes older and it transitions from what he calls a culture into what he called a civilization.
