What Are the Differences Between Birth Registration and Civil Registration?

Am, so the there is always birth registration in the united states in some form or another. It's a somewhat complex story of so different colonies that are set up by great britain, um, or other nations end up having different registration systems before the advent of the united states as an independent nation. Those registration systems have different practices and ideologies imbedded in them. Am, i mean, i'm curious how, you know, in the us, context, both came to be.
