The King Arthur mythology is an incredibly easy go-to to point out how like collaborative fictional worlds co existed or like existed in some form. And before they were captured by the capitalist market, there's this movement of a thing that people have done kind of vernacularly or folklorically into the realm of market commodities. So on one hand we are inventing a maybe not wholly new but certainly a new iteration of how we engage with fantastical worlds in a very particular part of the world.
