The Wizards of the Westman Islands

Norm saw a council of wizards chant an incantation, and blue flames spark on the shore. A beast born from darkness, who moved in darkness, sniffed the wind. It would find him and do what it had been summoned to do. Before that, he would grow tired. He looked at her as eyes closed. She should hide, though, so the sendy didn't see her too. No sense in her dying with him. If only they had more. His head drooped. The magic of the sending had knocked him out. Norm was glad to have met her, even though it meant his death, it had all been worth it for the time they had together.
