Is There Any Work in the Direction of Trying to Solve This Problem With Notebooks?
There is an alternative to Jupiter, which is called the Porenot. It has the same kind of drawbacks except that it's far more explicit about the notion of state. When you go back to a seller, it tries to put you back in the state that you had when editing this cell so only taking into account what was there previously. So if you're doing deep mutation inside the object, I don't think that this is tracked on properly.
