The infamous slash famous master letters that were found among her possessions when she died were just full of longing and grief and bewilderment. No one knows to whom they were written. Samuel Bowles is put forth as a probable master, Mr. Higginson, it could be anybody. The thing is, some of the language, just like when she wrote to Sue, is sort of too much for me. It's intriguing. She folded the letters away and put them in a drawer. But what did reach out notably was her voice and her passion.
