Why Did Richard's Psychotherapy Not Work?
In the time between richard's first and second murder, he went to see a psychologist on base. His wife said he sought out counselling due to merital issues, but williams remembered that they spoke much more about his issues with his father. Seven months after their sessions, his psychologist was arrested for hiring a hit man to shoot his own wife in the face with a shotgun. Interestingly enough, richard switched using a shotgun after his second murder. In later s written about richard, his wife expressed that she thought he had a split personality, one kind that she saw, and another that was this man that the police were describing as a killer.
