The Psychological Impact of Hoarding Disorder
75% of people with hoarding disorder may also have a co-occurring mental health issue. It could be major depression, it could be acute anxiety issues or social phobia. The psychological impact on loved ones depends on who you are and how close in proximity you actually are to the hoarder. Many times children growing up will self emancipate themselves at an early age just to because they can't deal with this situation.
