What Role Are Women Playing in Iran's Protests?
The first protests took place after Mz Amini's funeral in the western city of Sakez. Women ripped off their headscarves in solidarity to show support. Schoolgirls have also been demonstrating in playgrounds and on the streets. Ayatollah Khomeini has accused the United States and Israel of orchestrating riots dismissed by critics as fabricated.
