The more dense a piece of wood is, the harder it is to put a dent into. The jankatest score is actually something that they use in marketing for flooring and decking. But above a certain level, and not even a particularly high level, you are not really going to see much difference in the durability of your floors. Most of the scratching and denting that you see in a hardwood floor isn't even the wood itself, but the finish on top of the wood.
