How to Deal With Awkwardness in Interviews
I'm fascinated by how you deal with awkwardness as an interviewer. And I think it's because I always feel under pressure to perform. Charlie Elfick was a Conservative MP, and he's now in prison for sexual assault. He came onto my programme on Radio 5 Live before Prime Minister's questions. It was controversial that day because the day before he'd been restored the whip. But there was nothing about his guilt, and I would never cast any aspersions before a court case. The terms of engagement around what we're talking about is usually quite clear. Where it can be frightening, but it's always good.
