I think just by being exposed to it, like I could hear myself almost wanting to say it in a certain situation. You would pick those things up really quickly because you'd just be surrounded by the same. Whereas with Americans who come to Australia, if they're really stubborn and they don't want to pick up the slang or the expressions, they constantly stick out like a sore thumb.
