How I Got Started Writing Songs
When did you start taking notes for songs? Probably 20 years ago. The first set of songs that I wrote, I didn't really get out and play live or see a lot of people perform. And then I was working at a restaurant and one of the guys that worked there with me had a showbook. He asked me if I wanted to open for him at this coffee shop downtown. So I wrote like 40 minutes worth of songs,. pretty much, you know, just flipping back and forth between different songs.
