How to Interpret an Arterial Line
An arterial line is best used when it's interpreted in the context of your other monitors. Don't put an A-line in where there's already badness if you can avoid it. The transducer works by transmission of pressure waves via a wheatstone bridge. Pay attention to the waveform, not just the numbers and incorporate dynamic analysis for assessing volume responsiveness.
