The Vulgate Cycle
The vulgate cycle elaborates tremendously on the quest for the holy grail. It also tells of the affair in more detail between launcelot and guenevere, and this is what led to the break up and downfall of camelot. Other knights were envious and resentful towards launcelot because he was exceptionally talented and accomplished. And so other knights who are envious of launcelot perceive and leap upon this love affair between launcelOT and queen guinevere and use it to create a rift. This causes the round table to fall into fighting and dissension, and eventually leads, one way or another, to the end of arthur's kingdom.
