Moses asked the Lord if some people were exempt from this kind of worship. God said to Moses, no, basically you shall participate fully in the Passover. Even coming into contact with a dead body doesn't dispense you from ritual uncleanness. If we elect to stay away from mass, then we have essentially cut ourselves off from the people of God," he says.
