When you reach a hundred thousand pounds of net adjusted income, if you have children, there's another sting in the towel. Over this, you lose any entitlement to the tax-free childcare scheme. The high income child benefit charge was a mechanism introduced by the Cameron government. Once an individual or the partner reaches 60,000 pounds over just an income, then the full child benefit that's been claimed will be taken back by the government.
