In 1941, the FCC approved a band of FM stations between 42 and 50 megahertz. By 1946, 9 of 10 radio manufacturers weren't bothering to make them. Major Armstrong filed an antitrust suit against RCA claiming David Sarnoff was conspiring to stifle the FM radio industry.
