Hildegard of Bingen was a 12th century Christian mystic. Her works are full of recognizable appropriations of standard medical learning. She argued that divinity is to be identified with God, and in fact nothing whatsoever can be added to him. The knowledge of humanity is like a mountain rising up towards God, but the summit of that mountain is God's own knowledge.
