Do You Hear Silence?

I studied music at the University of Cambridge. I wrote a paper on you which explored whether deaf people hear silence. So do you hear silence? And if you do, what is that like? Yes, I'm very aware of silence, but silence in my mind doesn't really exist as such. We can sometimes imagine peacefulness being silence. It's a different environment that we sometimes think is silence. But while there is things happening in your body, you know, veins running or the pulse or the beating of the heart or that inner chatter, silence is extremely difficult to get away from.
