People of Color in the Criminal Justice System
If you are recently released from prison in the last ten years, you are likely to be person of color. The so called war on drugs of the eighties and nineties led to profoundly unequal arrests of black and latino people. A lot of formerly incarcerated people get jobs through their own networks, but the kind of jobs they secure, race can be a factor. Secretary rosato says that's one of the things people misunderstand the most about the criminal justice system.
