Topic Prominence in English

Every language probably has a way to do this, most languages at least. But it may be using bizarre circumlucations that don't make a whole lot of sense. With the clefting structures that English has, we can basically topicalize anything. It gets to sound really, really weird when you start going into objects of prepositions and stuff and trying to topicalize them. So instead of using a possessive construction, I hear that all the time actually, or I've heard that quite a bit. Jigurun particularly as a topic with a part of the thing going on there.
