resurrection is not renewal, it's not transformation or even reformation. It's resurrection and that requires a death. And as we've looked at the last couple of episodes, that death was something that is found in history. Now we've turned the page to resurrection. That's a surprising thing that we're not expecting. But as we've already seen, there's a grounding there in history. I'm hoping people hear this as historical event, not religious myth or a series of individual, personal, subjective experiences,. Of hope, of renewal, of something like that.

What kind of sermon did you hear today? This Easter, they hope you heard a sermon that was historical, preaching good news from outside of you; that was grounded in the Scriptures, showing Christ as the fulfillment of the Old Testament; that was applicable, demonstrating how Christ’s resurrection is for you; and that mirrored Christ’s loving accommodation for skeptics and doubters.
